12th meeting of the Almaty Mining Club

September 24, 2014 -- SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan) together Kazakhstan mining portal Mining.kz have conducted 12th meeting of Almaty Mining Club.

The meeting was linked to the VII research and practical conference «Contemporary issues of uranium industry». The conference was organized by Kazatomprom’s subsidiary – Institute of High Technologies LLP. Speakers at the conference included Terry Braun, president of SRK North America and Vladimir Ugorets Principle Consultant SRK (USA).

Daniya Dzhumankulova- graduate student of Kazakh National Technical University and the manager of LLP “Kazakhstan Nuclear University” kicked-off the meeting with a presentation “Skills development of the uranium industry: Practice, Problems and Prospects”.

Vladimir Ugorets presented Assessment of uranium recovery by ISR modelling.

The Almaty Mining Club was conceived in 2011 by SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan), KPMG, and the Central Asian Mining Union to provide a regular focused forum for discussions on current issues facing the industry, bringing together miners, suppliers, Government agents and financiers all with a stake in the dynamic mining and minerals business. After three years, the Club has become a regular get-together of mining people in Almaty, providing a venue where industry people can all gather, meet new and old faces, and gain new insights to current events.
