Dr. Ivan Maximov Joins SRK as Principal Consultant

SRK Consulting welcomes Dr. Ivan Maximov to our Almaty office as Principal Consultant (Environment).

Dr. Maximov has a broad range of expertise in the environmental and water resources areas. Initially trained as a surface water hydrologist with specialization in water quantity and quality modelling, he joined in environmental consultancy business arena in 2006.

Broadly defined, Ivan’s consultancy experience and key qualifications encompass environmental and social appraisals of development projects in a variety of industry sectors, including mining (underground/open pit); thermal power (coal, gas-fired thermal power plants); high voltage power transmission (lines and substations); wind power, renewable energy (small hydro, solar, biomass/biogas); chemicals production ( nitrogen fertilizers); water infrastructure (pump stations, irrigation), food processing (bakery), oil and gas.

Ivan has been participating/leading/managing projects, associated with environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA), EHS due diligence and compliance auditing of industrial facilities, industrial site assessments, remediation and site clean-up and environmental baseline surveys. The majority of completed projects have been performed in accordance with international (IFC, EBRD, EU, USAID) requirements and performance standards. Dr. Maximov has extensive experience in development of environmental and social action plans (ESAP), stakeholder engagement plans (SEP), environmental and social monitoring plans (ESMP) for bankable environmental and social appraisals.

Ivan has good knowledge of Kazakh, Georgian, Armenian and international (e.g. IFC, Equator Principles) and EU legislation, requirements and standards in the fields of environmental protection, air, surface and groundwater quality, wastewater management, drinking water quality, permitting procedures, water resources management, occupational and public health and safety.
