Field trips and geological tourism

SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan) offers field trips and geological tours to various regions of Central Asia. The main focus is training to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. The tour programs are designed for students, young professionals, geologists and mid-tier managers of geological and mining companies. There tours cover the following aspects of geology:

I. General regional and applied exploration:

• Structural analysis in applied geology (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan)
• Tectonic evolution and the structure of earth crust in Tien Shan and surrounding areas of the Central Asian fold belt (Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan)
• Methods of geological mapping of complex dislocated accretionary units (Uzbekistan)
• Geodynamic mapping and Palaeozoic metallogeny (Central Kazakhstan)
• Geodynamics and seismicity in the Kyrghyz sector of Tien Shan

II. Exploration and resource estimation of mineral deposits (JORC-compliant):

• Quality control of exploration and geological databases
• Geological sampling at various stages of exploration
• Modeling, statistical analysis and resource estimation
• GKZ and JORC - similarities and differences in the requirements and approach. Comparison of reporting.
