Erhan Karakaya

Erhan Karakaya, MSc, BSc, MAusIMM, Principal Consultant (Mining Engineering).  Erhan is based in the Almaty office and has over 25 years of mining experience in mine planning and mine production in gold, copper, lead, zinc, manganese, iron ore and coal mining.  His expertise involves scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, mining method selection, equipment selection, productivity analysis, capital and operating cost estimation and project risk analysis.  He is a qualified user of Whittle, Surpac and Deswik mine planning, optimisation and scheduling packages.  Erhan was the mining technical lead for the Udokan Project in Russia for SRK after which he joined Kazzinc in an open pit management role for a three-year period before re-joining SRK in early 2018.
