Thijs Goense

Thijs Goense is a consultant mining engineer with SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan). He holds both a MSc in mining engineering from Delft University of Technology, and a BSc in geology from Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. Besides his thorough geological fieldwork experience, Thijs has international engineering experience through several technical projects including strategic mine planning optimisation of an open-pit gold mine in Ghana, and technical reviews and financial modelling of underground mining trucks in Europe. Since joining SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan) in 2020, Thijs is assigned to undertake several mining engineering roles including pit optimisation, mine design, scheduling and cost estimations using a variety of software packages, including Whittle, NPVS and Deswik in order to assist with Due Diligence, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies throughout Central Asia.
