Mine Ventilation
Mine ventilation is one subject that is half art and half science with a heavy dose of experience thrown in on the side to correctly treat at any mine site. Underground room and pillar operations offer up a unique combination of factors which include large openings, high volume air flows, large fan equipment, low frictional pressure losses and a variety of particulate sources for the working environment. How this all comes together and the things that need to be considered in arriving at a site-specific ventilation plan will be covered.
